DesoFace is a non-surgical, fat dissolving treatment designed to target localised, stubborn pockets of fat in the face and neck. This treatment is particularly useful for tackling localised fat deposits around the jaw and neck to improve the ‘double chin’ appearance and give you an improved jawline and neck definition.
This treatment works through injecting an active ingredient called Deoxycholic acid, that targets the cell membrane of the fat cells (adipocytes). This has been shown to successfully remove stubborn areas of fat for patients. Fat cells targeted with this treatment are destroyed and subsequently broken down and absorbed by the body. If used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle, results of this treatment can be long-lasting and permanent.
As with all our treatments, an initial consultation is required where we will assess your suitability for this treatment and you will have an opportunity to ask any questions and learn about what is involved in this procedure. This treatment is best suited to those who have been unable to lose stubborn areas of fat along the jawline or under the chin and on the abdomen despite having a healthy weight, balanced diet and regular exercise.
For best results, it is recommended that you have a course of 2-4 treatments at four-week intervals. Subtle changes can be seen after 1-2 treatments. The number of treatment sessions required will be dependent on the amount of fat being treated, this will be discussed at your consultation
Once the fat cells within the targeted area have been destroyed, you will be able to see better definition around the face and neck and this will create a slimming effect. It may take up to four weeks to see the full results of the treatment as your body needs time to break down and absorb the excess fat.
After receiving fat dissolving injections you may have some swelling, redness and bruising at the injection site, but this tends to disappear within 1-3 weeks. Avoid direct sunlight, use of sunbeds and heat treatments during the treatment period. Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 5 days. Detailed aftercare advice will be provided at your consultation.
During the procedure, we will administer a series of injections targeting the problem areas of fat. We can offer a topical anaesthetic or numbing cream to be applied before your treatment.
Chin sessions are £250 each and abdomens and other areas £350 each
