F.A.Q

Lip fillers like other dermal fillers, contain hyaluronic acid. They are injected into the lip to lend volume and definition producing a sensual, more pronounced pout. Lip fillers can also be used to give a more youthful, fresh and rejuvenated appearance by softening lines and adding natural volume.

Firstly, a thorough medical consultation is completed where your expectations, concerns and questions can be addressed. We will then decide which filler suits your needs and equally so which technique of administration, a needle or cannula are used to administer the filler. A topical numbing cream will be applied prior to the procedure and after care will be discussed. We encourage all patients to read the consent form prior to attending the clinic.

Although topical numbing cream is used there is still an element of discomfort felt during the procedure. We would describe this as a stinging sensation however individuals experiences may vary.

On average results last 6- 12 months however some longer depending on the product used.

We allow 45 minutes for each appointment however the procedure itself takes approximately 10-20 minutes.

Avoid alcohol 24 before the procedure and ensure you have eaten and are well hydrated.

Swelling tends to last approximately 3-7 days, bruising sometimes longer.

We advise that you avoid alcohol and intense exercise for 24 hours after the procedure as this can increase swelling. We also advise that you do not touch your lips and avoid make up for 12 hours. All aftercare details are on our consent forms and will be discussed at the consultation.

With any medical or cosmetic procedures there are risks and potential side effects. Common side effects include bruising, swelling and tenderness and tend to last 3-7 days following the procedure however can be slightly longer for some treatments. More uncommon side effects include infection, lumps, allergic reaction, severe swelling and vascular occlusion.

All after- care procedures are discussed as part of the consultation process. If you experience a side effect you would contact the clinic immediately for support.
